Presenters:
Claudia Herrera and Miguel from Arte Escena Orisol gave a presentation on an upcoming painting workshop: “Chapala yesterday,” “Chapala today,” the workshop will include an introductory talk on the general history of Chapala. In collaboration with the University of Guadalajara, the Montecarlo Hotel, and Oma Habitat. Space is limited to 30 participants (15 adults and 15 children and/or teenagers). ALC artists will work directly with young Mexicans to create an acrylic painting representing the introductory talk. This is a unique opportunity for ALC to partner with our community. November 29th for the painting and December 6: Exhibition of their works.
ALC is seeking 15 participants for this project.
Each participant will provide a 60cm x 40 cm canvas, paints and brushes
Each participant will collaborate with one youth to create a painting that arises from the talk ‘Chapala Then & Now’
Each participant will meet twice: on 11/29 & 12/6.

Ze stated that any members who wish to have a profile page, please email artistsoflakechapala@gmail.com, and Vonn will contact you with further instructions. This is a complimentary benefit of ALC membership. You will get two URL’s one in English and one in Spanish, that you can use to promote your art.
Migration Project
Ze also talked about the Migration Project, an ad hoc committee envisioning a multidisciplinary art event centered on the theme of Migration. Due to illness the last meeting had to be cancelled a newe date will be set soon. Please watch the website calendar for details. Anyone interested in getting involved, please send an email to artistsoflakechapala@gmail.com.
Volunteering
Vonn talked about how important our volunteers are to the organization. At the art market we had vendor and customer greeters, general assistance, parking and loading assistance, and a photographer. Again the next art market is looking for help with load-in, translation, greeters, distributing flyers, and much more. There was special recognition to the volunteers who worked to make the LCS Haunted Forest themed Halloween event such a hit and to those volunteers that made the Ofrenda at LCS for the Dia de Muerto successful as well.
Art Market
Elena reported that our second Art Market at el Centro para la Cultura y los Artes de la Ribera (CCAR) was well attended. All spaces were sold. She also confirmed that those vendors who signed up for the November's market will receive an email with all the necessary information about arrival, setup, and other details.
We are looking forward to another successful event.

Barbara reported the membership statistics and shared that there has been a nice flow of new signups.

Upcoming ALC Events:
Past - October 26th Halloween Party at LCS. Good turn out with volunteers. The theme was Haunted Forest. Elena and Barbara purchased needed supplies. Elena set up hundreds of candy bags. Set up was 3:00pm at LCS on the Blue Patio.. Candy started at 4:00.
Past - October 29th to November 3rd altar installation for Day of the Dead. There are 5 volunteers at this time more are needed especially on the 29th for set up and preplanning.
November 7th - Meetup at Michael McMahon’s home for a studio tour
November 8th - Watercolor class at Montecarlo Hotel (3rd of a 4 day study)
November 3rd - membership meeting at LCS in the South Sala

Additional Announcements
Hunter Johnson, the president of LCS, is seeking bilingual adults to assist with a youth photography group. They’re also seeking donations of cameras that allow you to adjust the aperture and f-stop settings. If you're a bilingual photographer, they’d love to have you join! No fancy photography skills are required, and you don’t need to be completely fluent in Spanish or English. If you're interested in supporting local teens in exploring photography, contact Hunter at hunter@hunterjohnson.us or send a text to 760-567-3317.

Proyecto Migración

Voluntariado
Vonn habló sobre lo importantes que son nuestros voluntarios para la organización. En el mercado de arte tuvimos anfitriones para vendedores y clientes, asistencia general, ayuda con estacionamiento y carga, y un fotógrafo. Nuevamente, el próximo mercado de arte está buscando ayuda con la descarga, traducción, anfitriones, distribución de volantes y mucho más. Hubo un reconocimiento especial a los voluntarios que trabajaron para hacer del evento de Halloween con tema de Bosque Embrujado en LCS un gran éxito, así como a los voluntarios que hicieron que la Ofrenda en LCS para el Día de Muerto también fuera exitosa.
Mercado de Arte
Elena informó que nuestro segundo Mercado de Arte en el Centro para la Cultura y las Artes de la Ribera (CCAR) tuvo buena asistencia. Todos los espacios fueron vendidos. También confirmó que los vendedores que se inscribieron para el mercado de noviembre recibirán un correo electrónico con toda la información necesaria sobre llegada, montaje y otros detalles.

Eventos de Enriquecimiento
Próximos Eventos de ALC:
Pasado – 26 de octubre Fiesta de Halloween en LCS. Buena asistencia con voluntarios. El tema fue Bosque Embrujado. Elena y Barbara compraron los suministros necesarios. Elena preparó cientos de bolsas de dulces. La instalación fue a las 3:00 pm en LCS en el Patio Azul. Los dulces comenzaron a las 4:00.
Pasado – 29 de octubre al 3 de noviembre instalación del altar para el Día de Muertos. Hay 5 voluntarios en este momento; se necesitan más, especialmente el día 29 para la preparación y planificación previa.
7 de noviembre – Encuentro en la casa de Michael McMahon para un recorrido de estudio
