Art Market
Report from Elena:
Price for the space has changed from 1000p per event. The new price is 2000p for 2 spaces and 990p for staffing. 700p is paid to 2 helpers.
The date for the October market has changed from the 3rd Saturday to October 24th due to another event being held there. We will need to let others know including vendors and attendees. Jeff will need to be contacted to make new digital jpegs. Advertisements in the newspapers will reflect this change. Barbara will have flyers reprinted with the new date. Claudia will get the dates changed in publications. Anne suggested we promote the event on October 17th and then ask participants to come visit our Art Market the next week.
Art experiences: Taj Baker, Jennie Bergerson
Tables and chairs Artists will need to bring their own chairs.
Barbara has a table to bring for the membership desk. Any extra chairs will go downstairs for the Art Experience.
Proposal to purchase 2 1.8m tables at ~$700 each was approved.
Printing/signage - need new parking sign, new programs sign, entrance to Art Experiences ramp sign.
Will contact Jeff for graphics to be printed on new signs
Elena will paint over sandwich board signs to reuse them.
Signage proposal from Claudia was approved. She will create a sign and have it printed so that information can be changed each time. It will be mounted on foam core and the cost is 400p x 4 (2 in English and 2 in Spanish) =1600p.
Bar will be attended by the son of the owner of Unico for each market. He is not charging us a fee and will bring his own table.
Cancellations have been filled from the waiting list and spaces are sold out
Project - Strut Your Mutt - Doggie Fashion Show
Claudia reported a postponement and notification of a new date and new possible venue.
Chapala government wanted 21100p as a fee. The total expected intake would be 24000p. So the eent has been postponed until March 6th, 2027. A local school site may be free and will increase the number of participants.
Tours, Meetups and Cost Transparency
Barbara to report on ENART
Debrief on meeting with Stephanie
Claudia, Barbara & Vonn met to hone a proposal - Claudia to present proposal
On months w/o a Meetup, any member can host a ‘gathering’, free and open to all.
Any tour operator can list an art related tour. Will have a form on website where they can enter details and minimum qualifications
New volunteer role to receive the forms and list tours on calendar of events
Meetups have been changed to every other month and Stephanie will continue to organize those. The next Meetup is in October.
ALC Tour Proposal
ALC will adopt a straightforward policy to share information about art‑related public tour opportunities with members and friends. Upcoming tours offered by professional guides, with their contact details, will be listed in the Upcoming Events section of the monthly Monday Meeting agenda. When time permits, a listed guide may be invited to attend the meeting and provide a brief overview of their tour.
This approach will permit ALC to share useful information about art‑focused tours without taking on responsibility for organizing the event, covering expenses, or sending out publicity notices.Interested members would contact the Tour Guide directly and handle payment with them.
Gatherings are a new term. They will occur bi-monthly basis and on the off months of meetups. A form will be added to the website by Vonn so that any tour operator or any member or someone sponsored by a member who is proposing a gathering can complete the form and it will be reviewed by the volunteer Social Coordinator. The Social Coordinator can help to review the details and help in selecting a date.
The 3 categories will be listed on the website.
Member Meeting
The meetings are moving to the Neill James Sala on the first Monday of the month. We can fit 64 people in the room and we have plenty of chairs and a screen. Barbara will check on available tables.
Barbara will ask about moving the November meeting until the 9th due to Día de los Muertos.
Notifying members of move. It was agreed to change the date to November 9th.
The next presenter will be Taj Baker they would want to use a projector
Treasurer’s Report
Gretchen Johnston will report at the membership meeting.

Proyecto “Strut Your Mutt”: Desfile de Moda Canina
