Presentation
Hosting opportunities for Feria de Maestros de Arte
Guests Amy Esperanza & Mary Anna Yram are organizers on the host committee for the Feria de Maestros de Arte. The Feria is an annual event that brings more than 80 traditional artists from all parts of Mexico to display and sell their work. This year will be the 25th anniversary.
Date of the Feria de Maestros: Nov 7 - 9
Location: Hotel Chapala Real, La Floresta, Ajijic
The host committee is seeking volunteers to provide home hospitality for artists who travel a great distance to be here. Hosting is an excellent opportunity to make friends with the artists, learn about their lives and art, build community, and get free admission into the Feria.
Host responsibilities include:
Providing a place to sleep. Does not have to be fancy.
Pick them up on 11/6
Provide dinner. 11/8 will be a potluck that hosts will collaborate to provide food.
Appreciated but optional: provide breakfast and lunch
If you don’t have a car, there will be a shuttle provided for the artists with stops along the carretera

Open Board Position
The Secretary position is open. The duties are to take notes at Monthly meetings, BoD meetings, and post notes. The Secretary is also a voting member of the Board. Please consider volunteering to complete this term.
Website
Vonn New reports that the website https://artistsoflakechapala.org is continuously being updated. So far, 9 artists have their profile pages on the site. Any members who wish to have a profile page, please email artistsoflakechapala@gmail.com and Vonn with contact you with further instructions. This is a free perk of membership in ALC. You will get two URL’s one in English and one in Spanish that you can use to promote your art.
Migration Project
The Migration Project is an adhoc committee envisioning a multi-disciplinary art event around the theme of Migration. Our next meeting will be at Anne’s house at 4pm on Wed 9/3. Anyone interested in getting involved, please send an email to artistsoflakechapala@gmail.com.
Volunteering
ALC is a 100% volunteer-run organization. We welcome your help! Especially with the Art Market season starting, we need people to help direct load-in, translators, greeters, distribute flyers, and much more. Art Market
Elena reports that our first Art Market of the new season will be Sept 20, 10 - 3 at el Centro para la Cultura y los Artes de la Ribera (CCAR). This is the large brick complex with the arched entryway on the carretera in La Floresta. All spaces have been sold and there is a waiting list. Participating artists will receive an email with all the information they need about arrival, setup, etc. We are looking forward to this new venue.
Membership
Barbara reports that as of September 1, 2025, ALC has 139 members
51 Renewal letters were sent out to those with August and September expiration dates.
Treasurer
Gretchen reported that the fiscal year is from July to June, which coincides with our largest income-producing project, the Art Market, which runs from September through April. We ended FY 2024-25 with a balance of $58,137MXN. Dues and AM fees are now coming in, and at the end of August, the balance is $64,037MXN.

Aug 29th, 2:00 pm - Carlos Segoviano, Mexican modern art presentation in conjunction with LCS and Tia Stephanie Tours. This event was a big success with over 65 people attending, translation by Stephanie, and a reception afterwards where attendees learned more about ALC. More collaborations with LCS will be upcoming
Aug 30th - “Fabulas Fantasticas” Exhibition. Approximately 34 people traveled together to view the exhibit curated by Carlos Segoviano at MUSA. One attendee, Kat, shared her personal experience of this event.

Additional Announcements
Free Watercolor Classes, University of Guadalajara at Monte Carlo Hotel (Hidalgo 296, Lourdes, 45900 Chapala) by Paulina Maciel. Paulina Maciel is a Mexican freelance graphic artist, designer and illustrator. She has made the naturalistic illustration with watercolor her profession, applying it in all kinds of projects and collaborating as an artist with different national and international brands. Bring your own supplies and come have some fun together while we learn.

Hunter Johnson, the president of LCS, is seeking bilingual adults to assist with a youth photography group. They’re also seeking donations of cameras that allow you to adjust the aperture and f-stop settings. If you're a bilingual photographer, they’d love to have you join! No fancy photography skills are required, and you don’t need to be completely fluent in Spanish or English. Presentación
Oportunidades para la Feria de Maestros de Arte
Las invitadas Amy Esperanza y Mary Anna Yram son organizadoras del comité organizador de la Feria de Maestros de Arte. La Feria es un evento anual que reúne a más de 80 artistas tradicionales de todo México para exhibir y vender sus obras. Este año celebra su 25.º aniversario.
Fecha de la Feria de Maestros: 7-9 de noviembre
Lugar: Hotel Chapala Real, La Floresta, Ajijic
El comité organizador busca voluntarios para brindar alojamiento a los artistas que viajan desde grandes distancias para asistir. Ser anfitrión es una excelente oportunidad para entablar amistad con los artistas, aprender sobre sus vidas y su arte, fortalecer la comunidad y obtener entrada gratuita a la Feria.
Proporcionar un lugar para dormir. No tiene que ser lujoso.
Recógelos el 6/11.
Ofrecer la cena. El 8/11 habrá una comida compartida en la que los anfitriones colaborarán para proporcionar comida.
Se agradece, pero es opcional: ofrecer desayuno y almuerzo.
Si no tienes coche, se proporcionará un servicio de transporte para los artistas con paradas a lo largo de la carretera.

Barbara informa que, al 1 de septiembre de 2025, ALC contaba con 139 miembros. Se enviaron 51 cartas de renovación a quienes tenían fecha de vencimiento en agosto y septiembre.
Tesorera
Gretchen informó que el año fiscal va de julio a junio, coincidiendo con nuestro proyecto más rentable, el Mercado de Arte, que se realiza de septiembre a abril. Cerramos el año fiscal 2024-25 con un saldo de $58,137 MXN. Las cuotas y las comisiones AM ya están llegando, y al final de agosto, el saldo es de $64,037 MXN.

29 de agosto, 14:00 h - Carlos Segoviano, presentación de arte moderno mexicano en colaboración con LCS y Tía Stephanie Tours. Este evento fue todo un éxito, con más de 65 asistentes, traducción a cargo de Stephanie y una recepción posterior donde los asistentes conocieron más sobre ALC. Próximamente se realizarán más colaboraciones con LCS.
30 de agosto - Exposición “Fábulas Fantásticas”. Aproximadamente 34 personas viajaron juntas para ver la exposición curada por Carlos Segoviano en MUSA. Kat, una de las asistentes, compartió su experiencia personal en este evento.
