Please watch your email inbox for a new survey questionnaire. We last conducted a survey in 2024 to find out what artists wanted and needed from our group before we were officially formed. We want to know how we’re doing and what you want to see going forward.
Website - Vonn New
Vonn New reported that the website https://artistsoflakechapala.org is continuously being updated. Any members who wish to have a profile page, please email artistsoflakechapala@gmail.com, and Vonn will contact you with further instructions. This is a complimentary benefit of ALC membership. You will get two URL’s one in English and one in Spanish, that you can use to promote your art. Each profile includes links to your bio and portfolio. You can post up to 10 pieces. Currently, there are 16 profiles on the website. ArtConnection is also providing a 10% discount to members who have a biography on the website.
Volunteering - Vonn New
Artists of Lake Chapala (ALC) is proud to be a 100% volunteer-run organization. Thanks to the dedication and generosity of our volunteers, December's events were a tremendous success and well attended by our community. Art Market - Elena Valdivia
Our December art market absolutely sparkled. It was an uplifting showcase of what happens when a community comes together with heart and creativity. Our volunteers poured in their time, energy, and festive spirit, transforming the event into a warm, lively celebration that is sure to carry us straight into the New Year’s glow. A jubilant round of applause goes to Elena, who guided the day with enthusiasm, care, and a burst of holiday magic (did you see all those balloons).
Mitzu is returning as our Bartender so stop in and toast his return and all things ALC.
The next Art Market will be held on January 17th. Spaces are all full. A request was made to NOT park on the inside road adjacent to the facility. Also, to be considerate and leave parking for visitors.
We’d love for you to join the excitement! We’re looking for helping hands to keep the momentum sparkling, whether it’s load‑in, translation, greeting guests, vendor relief, vendor support, or clean‑up. We also need enthusiastic volunteers to spread the word by distributing flyers and supporting a variety of other festive tasks. Your energy can help make the year’s first events shine even brighter. Publicity (Claudia): ALC is currently advertising the Ojo, Guadalajara Reporter, and Laguna/Lakeside. ALC is included in the calendar sections as well. Word of mouth continues to be the most effective way to get the world out about what's happening as ALC.

Tours will resume around April. The following interests were shared: Tonala for different potters and for glass blowing, Guadalajara Art Zone for supplies. Email other ideas to Stephanie.
The Art Walk is February is 6th 7th & 8th. Contact Victor Alcazar for questions at (portalacceso@yahoo.com). There are over 90 artists participating. It’s an opportunity to visit artist studios and public spaces. The cost is 50 pesos for the map which will be available at each site. It was suggested that it would be helpful to organize vans.
Glenda offered to check with Victor.
Also, the Mirramontes have a van that might be another option

Artistas de Lake Chapala (ALC) se enorgullece de ser una organización dirigida 100% por voluntarios. Gracias a la dedicación y generosidad de nuestros voluntarios, los eventos de diciembre fueron un gran éxito y muy concurridos por nuestra comunidad.
Al comenzar el Año Nuevo con energía fresca y brillantes posibilidades, ALC abraza la alegría de los nuevos comienzos y la conexión renovada. El voluntariado se convierte en una manera vibrante de apoyar las artes mientras se celebra el espíritu de la temporada, haciendo nuevos amigos, compartiendo risas y entrando en 2025 rodeados de creatividad y comunidad.
Mercado de Arte - Elena Valdivia
Nuestro mercado de arte de diciembre brilló absolutamente. Fue una muestra inspiradora de lo que sucede cuando una comunidad se une con corazón y creatividad. Nuestros voluntarios entregaron su tiempo, energía y espíritu festivo, transformando el evento en una cálida y animada celebración que seguramente nos llevará directo al resplandor del Año Nuevo. Un jubiloso aplauso para Elena, quien guió el día con entusiasmo, cuidado y un toque de magia navideña (¿vieron todos esos globos?).
Recuerden que la Mesa Directiva de ALC, también voluntarios, trabajó incansablemente para coordinar y ofrecer una experiencia impecable. El próximo Mercado de Arte se llevará a cabo el 17 de enero. Los espacios ya están completos. Se solicitó NO estacionar en el camino interior adyacente a la instalación. Además, ser considerados y dejar estacionamiento para los visitantes.
¡Nos encantaría que se unieran a la emoción! Estamos buscando manos amigas para mantener el impulso brillante, ya sea en la carga, traducción, bienvenida de invitados, apoyo a vendedores, relevo de vendedores o limpieza. También necesitamos voluntarios entusiastas para difundir la noticia distribuyendo volantes y apoyando una variedad de otras tareas festivas.
