Business
Claudia Essenburg has served as our Social Media Administrator and is now transitioning from that position to join the Publicity Committee as the Project Management and Marketing Lead. We extend a warm welcome to Claudia in her new role and look forward to her contributions to our team. We are excited to have her on board.
Open Board Position
The Board is seeking a volunteer to assume the role of Social Media Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing ALC’s Facebook group, including approving new members and moderating posted content. While we currently have one volunteer managing the page, additional development and growth initiatives are needed to enhance our social media presence. If you are interested in getting involved, please send an email with the subject volunteer to artisitsoflakechapala@gmail.com.
Ad Hoc Committee forming.
The newly formed ad hoc committee, Migración, had its first meeting. The committee discussed holding a series of workshops on the topic and evolving into producing an event for public consumption. The committee’s goal is to establish and investigate the development of a project showcasing storytelling performance, literary, and visual arts around the theme of migration. The committee will be responsible for conceptualizing the project and presenting a proposal for approval from the Board of Directors, venues, and members. Artists who are interested in contributing to this initiative are encouraged to volunteer at this early stage to help shape the vision for the events. To volunteer, please contact vonn.new@gmail.com.

Membership Report
Payment from new and renewing members can be made at the Monthly Membership meetings or the Third Thursday Social.
ALC will be participating in a non-profit/community organization expo on the Ajijic Malecon June 8 10 - 4. If you want to volunteer, please talk to Barbara Logan or Claudia Essenburg.
Publicity/Marketing Report
We are pleased to announce that Claudia Essenburg has joined the committee. Claudia holds a degree in commercial design and has significant experience as the owner of a business specializing in advertising and graphic design. Her expertise will undoubtedly be a valuable addition to our team.
Finance Report
Arrangements have been made to transfer the Peter Shandera funds to his wife, Vicky. The current balance is 57,650 pesos.

A member profile page workshop was held June 2nd, immediately following the membership meeting. Twenty-five members were invited. Additional workshops will be scheduled. *June 25th, Amphibious Bus adventure into the lake in Jocotepec and lunch at Sabors Restaurant.
Cost 900 pesos per person, payments made at the membership meeting on June 2nd, LCS, and the 3rd Thursday social on June 19th at the Unico Restaurant.
10:00 am Departure from Black Coffee, Ajijic
2nd - Pick up across the Carretera from Carnitas Hector in West Ajijic (carretera Jocotepec 100) at the public bus stop. Parking is open at Hector's if needed
11:00 am Drive to Jocotepec and enter the water
11:00 - 11:45 am Scenic lake tour (approx 45 minutes on the water).
11:45 am Exit the lake and travel to Sabores Lago Sur restaurant
12:45 - 2:15 pm Lunch service followed by creative time for sketching and photography, plus an interactive Q&A session with Chef TyD.
2:15 pm departure from the restaurant, return journey to Ajijic
3:00 pm - Arrival back at Black Coffee, Ajijic
Total Experience: Approximately 5 hours

A member of Sabores has agreed to attend our Monday meeting to collect payment.
Announcement and Art Events:
Thank you, LCS, for your continued support
Hunter Johnson, LCS president, is currently seeking bilingual adults to assist in the youth photography group, as well as donations of cameras that allow for adjustable aperture and f-stop settings. Additionally, bilingual photographers are needed to participate in the program. No prior expertise in photography is required, nor is complete fluency in Spanish or English. If you're interested in supporting local teenagers in exploring this artistic medium, please contact Hunter at hunter@hunterjohnson.us or 760-567-3317. Thank you for your consideration.
The next monthly board meeting will be held via Zoom on Thursday, June 27th, at 4:00 p.m. The link is sent via email to all members and posted on the website calendar.
July’s Membership meeting is Monday the 7th, from 11:00 to 12:00, in the South Campus Sala of the Lake Chapala Society.

Puesto vacante en la junta directiva
La Junta Directiva busca un voluntario para asumir el rol de Gerente de Redes Sociales. Este puesto es responsable de supervisar el grupo de Facebook de ALC, incluyendo la aprobación de nuevos miembros y la moderación del contenido publicado. Si bien actualmente contamos con dos voluntarios para administrar la página, se necesitan iniciativas adicionales de desarrollo y crecimiento para mejorar nuestra presencia en redes sociales. Formación del Comité Ad Hoc
El recién formado comité ad hoc, Migración, celebró su primera reunión. El comité debatió la realización de una serie de talleres sobre el tema y su posible desarrollo como evento público.
El objetivo del comité es establecer e investigar el desarrollo de un proyecto que muestre narrativa, performance, literatura y artes visuales en torno al tema de la migración.
El comité será responsable de conceptualizar el proyecto y presentar una propuesta para su aprobación por parte de la Junta Directiva, las sedes y los miembros. Se anima a los artistas interesados en contribuir a esta iniciativa a ofrecerse como voluntarios en esta etapa inicial para ayudar a definir la visión de los eventos. 12:45 - 14:15 h Servicio de almuerzo, seguido de tiempo creativo para dibujar y tomar fotografías, además de una sesión interactiva de preguntas y respuestas con el chef TyD.
14:15 h - Salida del restaurante y regreso a Ajijic
15:00 h - Llegada a Black Coffee, Ajijic
Duración total: Aproximadamente 5 horas

Hunter Johnson, presidente de LCS, busca adultos bilingües para ayudar en el grupo de fotografía juvenil, así como donaciones de cámaras con apertura y diafragma ajustables. Además, se necesitan fotógrafos bilingües para participar en el programa. No se requiere experiencia previa en fotografía ni dominio completo del español o el inglés.
